What budget do you need for Facebook advertising in Morocco?

Everybody wants a number in dirhams. Nobody can honestly give you one without knowing what a customer is worth to you. Here is how to work out your own Facebook advertising budget.

"What budget do I need for Facebook advertising in Morocco?" is one of the questions Moroccan business owners ask most often, and almost every answer online opens with a figure in dirhams. This article will not give one, and the second section explains why that refusal is more useful than an invented amount.

What follows is a method: how to derive your budget from your own numbers, how long a test has to run before it means anything, and what the choices in the ads manager actually come down to.

What budget do you need to launch Facebook advertising in Morocco?

There is no standard budget for Facebook advertising in Morocco, because the right budget depends on what a customer is worth to you — and that number has nothing in common between a pharmacy and a car rental company. The right budget is the one that buys enough results to learn something, without exceeding what you can afford to lose if the test fails.

Meta puts it its own way: your budget is your best cost-control tool when you create an ad, and the cost of your advertising campaigns varies depending on a number of factors (Meta for Business, "Facebook and Instagram ads pricing and cost: an overview", French edition consulted 6 November 2026). The platform is not selling a price. It is selling space whose cost depends on what other advertisers are willing to pay to reach the same people as you, at the same moment.

Why does this article give no figure in dirhams?

Because an advertising cost quoted in an article was measured on somebody else's account, in another sector, on another date, and says nothing about yours. The cost of a Moroccan campaign moves with the sector, the season, the audience, the placement, the quality of the creative and how hard competitors are pushing in the auction: during Ramadan or the sales, the same people are contested by far more advertisers.

Quoting a number would be easy. It would also be the least useful thing on this page, because it would make you judge your campaign on the wrong question. The right question is not "am I paying the right price per click", it is "is what I pay for a customer still less than what a customer is worth to me".

Artcom Solution publishes no prices on its site, and no client result figures until the client concerned has approved them. This page follows the same rule.

How do you work out your own Facebook advertising budget?

Your budget comes out of three numbers only you know, and no article can supply them.

What a customer is actually worth to you. Not the sale price — the margin, over the lifetime of the relationship. A perfume customer who comes back three times a year is not worth the same as a single order. If you do not know this number, that is the first job, before any advertising.

What you are willing to pay to win a customer. This is a decision rather than a calculation: you choose how much of that margin you trade for growth — generously if you have cash, narrowly if you do not.

How many customers you need before you can conclude anything. This is the one everybody forgets. If the campaign produces two customers a week, a month of testing gives you eight data points — too few to tell a good campaign from a good week. The budget for a test is the second number multiplied by the third.

One number remains that you do not yet know: the proportion of people who see the ad, click, write, and then buy. That is what a first campaign exists to measure. A first campaign does not have to be profitable; it has to be legible.

How long does an advertising test need to run?

A test needs to run long enough for the platform to leave its learning phase and for you to accumulate enough results to decide. On its pricing page, Meta says to set a budget sufficient to be spent over at least seven days, and recommends, for a boosted post, starting with a budget of at least $5 and a duration of more than six days (Meta for Business, French edition consulted 6 November 2026).

Those are Meta's figures, and they are technical floors rather than business budgets: they say what the system needs in order to function, not what a customer costs in your sector.

Meta also publishes a help page titled "About the learning phase" (Meta Business Help Centre, consulted 6 November 2026). We do not restate its thresholds here, because those are exactly the rules the platform adjusts without notice: read them at the source before building a plan on them.

The method rule does not move: do not touch a campaign while it is learning. Changing the audience, the creative or the budget mid-flight costs you the one thing you came for, which is a clean comparison.

Facebook Ads or Meta Ads: what is the difference?

There is no product difference: "Facebook Ads" is the older everyday name, and Meta now brands the same system as its own. The official pricing page is titled "Facebook and Instagram ads pricing and cost", and the product pages are published under "Meta for Business" (consulted 6 November 2026). An advertiser searching for "facebook ads price morocco" and one searching for "meta ads" are asking about the same buying system.

Facebook Ads or Instagram Ads: do you have to choose?

No: Facebook and Instagram are not two competing ad networks but two placements inside the same system. Meta describes its Advantage+ placements as running your ads on Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network and Messenger, with the system automatically identifying the best platforms and placements based on your campaign objectives, your target audience and other factors (Meta for Business, "Meta Advantage+ placements", French edition consulted 6 November 2026).

The real decision is therefore not "Facebook or Instagram" but "do my visuals survive both formats". A creative designed for a feed and stretched into Reels is obvious on sight, and it is the creative, not the network, that will weigh most on cost.

Facebook Ads or Google Ads: which one for a Moroccan business?

They do different jobs: Google Ads captures demand that already exists, Facebook Ads creates demand that was never expressed. Someone typing "car rental marrakech airport" has already decided; someone scrolling a feed asked for nothing.

If your customers look for your service by its name, start by being findable where they look — for a local business in Morocco that means the Google Business listing first, and then the search visibility of your service pages. If your product is discovered rather than searched for, Meta advertising is the more direct lever. And if your offer ticks both boxes, order matters: existing demand is cheaper to capture than demand you have to create.

CBO or ABO: who should decide how the budget is split?

CBO and ABO answer one question: is the budget set at campaign level or at ad set level. Meta now calls the first option Meta Advantage+ campaign budget, formerly campaign budget optimisation, and describes it as a replacement for setting individual budgets for each ad set, with the budget continuously distributed across ad sets instead. The same page states an eligibility condition: all ad sets must use the same budget type, the same bid strategy and standard delivery (Meta for Business, "Advantage+ campaign budget", French edition consulted 6 November 2026). ABO is the opposite case, where you set each ad set's budget yourself.

The honest way to choose is not to ask which one "performs better" but what you are trying to learn. To compare two audiences, letting the algorithm redistribute the budget destroys the comparison: it will concentrate spend on one of them. To simply get the most results at the best cost, letting the campaign distribute makes sense. Learning and optimising are two different goals.

How do you launch a first Facebook campaign properly?

A first campaign is prepared in this order: measurement, then offer, then budget. The most expensive mistake is to reverse the three.

  1. Install measurement before spending the first dirham. Without a link between a sale and a campaign, you will be paying for numbers you cannot read. Meta's tracking tools are documented in its help pages: install them, and confirm a real order registers before launch.
  2. Decide the single action you are buying. A WhatsApp message, a form, or an order — one of them. A campaign chasing three actions optimises for none.
  3. Concentrate the budget. A small budget split across six ad sets produces nothing, six times over. One audience and three creatives beats an architecture the budget cannot feed.
  4. Have somewhere to put the people. A page that answers, a number somebody picks up, a human available in the evening: advertising is only half the work.
  5. Let it run, then judge it on one number — the cost of a customer actually won. Impressions and likes do not pay salaries.

Parfumerie MAMA, which went from one Marrakech shop to selling across Morocco, followed that order: the shop, cash on delivery and the logistics were built first, and the ad campaigns came afterwards to feed a system that could take the orders. Other projects are described on the Work page.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

  • How much does Facebook advertising cost in Morocco?

Facebook advertising in Morocco has no fixed cost: it depends on the sector, the season, the audience, the quality of the creative and the number of advertisers contesting the same people. Meta states on its pricing page that the cost of advertising campaigns varies depending on a number of factors (consulted 6 November 2026). The only measurement that concerns you is your cost per customer won.

  • What is the minimum budget to start with Facebook Ads?

For a boosted post, Meta recommends starting with a budget of at least $5 and a duration of more than six days, and setting a budget sufficient to last at least seven days (Meta for Business, pricing page, French edition consulted 6 November 2026). That amount is a technical floor of the platform rather than a business budget: yours has to buy enough results for you to conclude something.

  • How much does a Facebook advertising campaign cost for a Moroccan business?

A Facebook campaign costs whatever you decide to put into it; the real question is how much you must put in to learn something usable. Multiply what you are willing to pay to win a customer by the number of customers you need before the result stops being chance. That multiplication gives you the budget of a test, and it uses only your own numbers.

  • Facebook Ads or Google Ads: which should you choose?

Google Ads captures demand that is already expressed, Facebook Ads creates demand that was not. If your customers search for your service by name, search is the priority lever; if your product is discovered rather than searched for, Meta is more direct. For a local business in Morocco, existing demand is generally cheaper to capture than demand you have to create.

  • What is the difference between Meta Ads and Facebook Ads?

There is no product difference: Meta Ads and Facebook Ads name the same advertising system, under the current name and the older one. The official pricing page is titled "Facebook and Instagram ads pricing and cost" and the product pages sit under "Meta for Business" (consulted 6 November 2026). One budget can be delivered across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Audience Network.

  • Should a beginner use CBO or ABO?

The choice between CBO and ABO depends on what you are trying to find out, not on which one "performs" better. To compare two audiences, set the budget per ad set (ABO), otherwise automatic redistribution will concentrate spend and destroy the comparison. To simply chase the best overall cost, Advantage+ campaign budget — what Meta used to call campaign budget optimisation — does that job.

  • How do you know whether a Facebook campaign is working?

A Facebook campaign is working when the cost of a customer won stays below what that customer is worth to you, and that can only be checked if measurement was installed before launch. Impressions, clicks and engagement do not answer the question. If you cannot connect a sale to a campaign, auditing your campaigns and your tracking is the first job: that is what Scale Up covers, and what the free Growth Blueprint settles.
